Introduction:
Every year Gilbert Visual Artist League (GVAL) hosts its Annual Fine Art Show and sale. It is a juried fine art show, and entries are called a few months before the show.
This year the opening of the show was on 25th February 2023. The show will be up till 4th April 2023.
Participation:
From the entries received, 49 artists were selected, and 100 pieces of art in various art forms were displayed, from oil painting and acrylics to photography.
It was indeed a gorgeous Opening to the show. Many prominent guests and community leaders were present to encourage the artists.
Selection And Award:
The entries opened in December 2022, with the deadline in February. I spent most of my days leading to the February deadline creating images to enter for the juried show.
I settled on three images seen below. To my surprise, all three of them were accepted for the 20th Annual Fine Art Show.
Award:
I won First Place in Photography Category for the entry- The Glow. Getting the Blue Ribbon and placing it near your work is an accomplishment. Days spent crafting an image and getting recognition is a humbling feelings.
I received a comment from one of the jury members for my artwork -The Glow
"If the “Old Masters” had a camera, this is how their art would look. Wonderful use of darks & balance the lights.”
During the show, the most talked about image was of my cat Laaila- Innocence. It was as if she wanted to be part of the show.
Overall it was a wonderful experience and evening. Below are some of the images from the Fine Art Show.
Ending Note:
