Artist Bio:

Deepika Haldankar is a Still Life Photographer who lives and works in Chandler, Arizona. A native of India, her work showcases the vibrancy and love for colors that she inherits from Indian culture. 

Deepika is a self-taught photographer. She started photographing mundane everyday objects, quickly realizing the beauty the everyday objects hold. Her work focuses on gallery-style creative still-life photos that stand out. 

Her signature style is adding digital painting strokes to the photographs. The idea behind these strokes is to engage a viewer deeper in the photo and art. 

Deepika's work has been awarded and is featured in various online magazines. 

Artist Statement:

I drive my inspiration through mundane everyday objects. With minimalist compositions, contrasting colors, and the play of light and shadows, I bring out the magic and beauty of these everyday objects. My work is organic and intuitive. Each digital brush stroke on a photo is a meditative experience. There is a surreal element to my work. The ultimate goal is to get the viewer deeper into the visual experience. 

In my words...

Photography, for me, is a transition and transformation. It is a trance in which I create something new. I use shadows and light to depict this transition.

All of my photographs have a little bit of me in them. I use everyday mundane life experiences and objects to create a story.

I want you to stop for a moment and experience the world around you through my work. This is my invitation to you to my world.
